Upon receiving it, I noticed that, although beautiful, the MacBook 12 is very slippery, and the finish looked like it would scratch and if it can scratch, wife can find a way to scratch it! Unboxing, I was surprised at how sturdy, yet flexible the thin membrane is. It's a beautiful smoky color, and the silicon texture now makes the Macbook un-slippery. Now it can sit on her lap and if it falls, the silicone cover will hopefully absorb the blow and protect the finish. By the way, putting on the two covers was so easy it was just silly.
