It requires a hard power cycle. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Battery Is Dead *by S***R on November 13, 2013* I read the instructions and wired the new meter accordingly, or so I thought. The meter is always connected to the battery, but the display is only on when the power to my control panel is on. After the install, and the purchase of a brand new 12v sealed battery, all was well. I turned on my panel a couple of days later to find the battery meter blinking red; my brand new battery was nearly dead! Apparently, the battery gauge drains the battery, even if the display is turned off? Reading the instructions, I understood them to leave the meter connected to the battery, espescially while charging, so that the meter knew the condition/status of the charge.
