I made one interesting observation, the sound this bell makes is very similar to either a Text message or Whatsapp audible alert made by an Iphone. I found this out on the Pennine Bridleway on my first outing, as I approached a couple of walkers I rang my bell and to my surprise both the walkers stopped and got out their phones.
