Assembly does take a while and plan on a two person team. However, once assembly is finished there is no squeaking or swaying. We have a 6 foot, 180 pound 18 year old on the top bunk, and a 65 pound 6 year old on the bottom bunk. We have been using it for about 4 years and have been very happ with it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐ Don't even try to assemble unless you have A LOT of patience. *by A***R on July 3, 2020* I read somewhere that a good percentage of Europeans were conceived on an Ikea bed. Well, assembling this thing is birth control. You must have 2 people to do it. Make sure the second person isn't your spouse. This thing's assembly can ruin a marriage. The "instructions" are terrible. The orientation of various pieces is not clearly shown so you will probably end up trying several steps multiple times to get it right. Once you get the frame done next is the real killer, the mattress support. If you're like me you'll end up saying stuff like "I know the screw is cross threaded but it took me 10 minutes to get it that far and it's not going to come out so it's just fine."So why 3 starts instead of just one? Because once you do finally get it assembled it's as sturdy as tank. And just as pretty :)In closing, if you can find any other sturdy bed or get this one used and already assembled, buy it. If you want grounds for divorce, buy this one and have your wife help you build it.BTW, if you're thinking you can just find a video on Youtube to show you how to assemble it then good luck. There are several but none of the ones I found went in the same order as the instructions or went so fast that even with pausing they were useless. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ smaller kids *by B***O on March 29, 2016* Perfect for our needs, we have smaller twin boys that are 5 years old. A conventional bunk bed is to high off the ground and, leaves a good chance of injury if there is an accidental fall. This bed eliminates the potential for injury, by being closer to the ground. ### ⭐⭐⭐ but i got the loft bed which is pretty much the same *by B***2 on September 17, 2016* i didn't purchase the bunk bed, but i got the loft bed which is pretty much the same. It was a PIA to put together. the mesh stuff was actually the problem. I also highly recommend you glue the 2 part screws together prior to putting together cuz if you mess up and say have to unscrew it the whole piece will come out instead of just the top.
