They are made from polypropylene plastic and should remain stable for anything up to 100 years. They are ideal for sheds and log cabins, as well as decks and floors. **Q: Are these self leveling? I have a slightly uneven patio we want to deck flat.** A: The pedestals are height adjustable and can be used without problem on slightly uneven ground as the large 200mm base area generally conforms well to the substrate. Where required, to compensate for sloping sites we can offer levelling shims in 1, 3 or 5 degree angles that fit on the tops of the supports. Alternatively, you can safely use packing shims under the base plates to ensure a firm seating. **Q: The pavement Iā€™m building deck on is at a slight angle. Honestly, I'm thinking of removing them, I don't see how I can be confident using them to support anything, thye are ridiculously expansive for something that a person with muscle weakness in her hands from MS can can flex using her hands, Ā£85 is best spend put towards some tanalised wood I think.They are easy to use, although they do not really grip to the wood, just one screw holding them in place, to a flimsy (very) piece of plastic. The screw has no way to lock onto the pedastel, which are extremely light weight. Honestly the more I write this review, the more i'm thinking I am going to remove them, I haven't finished my job yet, and I think I will have to do the job twice if I keep them.Also, you need a lot, because they are so flimsy, they need spacing very close. Tanaslised wood is dear, but these are dearer. As a first time DIYer, (Covid19 skills), I'm learning a lot of expensive and time consuming lessons. This be one.FYI:: in 2024 the deck still sits on these. So I can attest to the fact that the ones in-place will hold. I'm not changing my star review because everything I said before is still true.
