Review: Can't say enough great things about the turtle! - I bought this for my youngest when she was 6 months old. She was fascinated with lights and thought this would be perfect for her room. Words can't describe how much joy this turtle brings to my little girls day. She beams whenever I turn it on. It's such a friendly looking turtle that babies seem to be drawn to it. I was a bit worried about the hard turtle shell where the stars are, but am pleasantly surprised that even when she "enthusiasticly" bangs on the top, it stands up to it! I actually like the hard top compared to the pillow pet light ones. My oldest has managed to stick her fingers in the top of her pillow pet one and get it stuck in the lights. I love that this isn't possible with the turtle. I originally thought this would be more like a pillow pet that you'd want to lay on. I'd definitely say it is not like that. Laying on it would not be comfortable. However, that doesn't matter since it's become a great nighttime light. It does have a long turn off timer (close to an hour). At first this annoyed me since I was worried how quickly the batteries would burn out. I will say in 6 months though, I haven't needed to change them. I love the variety of colors that you have with the lights. You can keep it steady on one light, or gradually have them fade from one to another. That happens to be our favorite setting. I am impressed with how far the lights shine. While setting it on a low bookcase, I can clearly see the stars on the ceiling. I don't know much about stars, but the company advertises that these stars are in the correct location as they are outside. I'd recommend to anyone! I think it's great for a nursery or for older kids that need a security light in their room.

**Q: ok for younger than 2 years**
A: I use it in my 2 year old's room, but I don't keep it in his crib with him.  For our next child I will do the same thing from a much younger age, because I think it establishes a nice patterned light to fall asleep to.  My two year old loves when I bring out the turtle, place it on the floor and turn out the lights!

**Q: Does turtle need to be washed after being left near baby for fortnight?**
A: You do not need to generally wash it just for hanging out. I generally try to give it some distance from the baby, but you can hand wash it by basically spot cleaning the whole thing. I had to do this once when my whole family got the flu at the same time and everything got covered in vomit. I just used some soap and water on a wash cloth and a little oxyclean pre-treater spray, and it was great.

**Q: Does the blue turtle have the option to stay on all night or is it only on a timer?**
A: I have the turtle, bought for my 1st child, now 8 years old, and using it now for his sister who is two months :) it is on a timer for about 45 mins also.

**Q: D the projected stars move, or are they still? Thank you!**
A: They are still.  My son likes to move the turtle in to a different position every night so that the stars are in different spots.  He loves it so much!
