They get full sun but haven't faded at all. A few tiny pieces have fallen off, but nothing big. My neighbors thought they were real. If you're using a pot (most likely a 10" one) you'll want it in a location where winds won't catch it (or else it will tip over - cracking the pot, more likely than not.) I love this fake - really helped rescue a location that needed something vertical as a focal point. A huge tree had died there, been removed, and the tall stump rotted away. I got 4 of these when the price was reduced and they look great and real! They come in a little black pot so we dug to bury the pot so it looks like the tree is planted. If you do this it will shorten the height of the tree, but they still work for our needs.
