Very pleased that it's educational as well as functional. The letters can be removed to create a puzzle, too. The 36 tiles can be arranged any way you wish, and this was a great price for 36 sq ft of play space. For now I have it under her Graco LiteTraveler Playard for extra cushion. When she's moving around, it'll be a cushy spot for her to play with her toys, or a soft spot to kneel when she's playing with the train table. Easy to take up when grandgirl isn't here, and the box the mat comes in is sturdy enough to hold the pieces when not in use.
