When I replaced the first one, the ping pong ball on the top came loose and it took a good bit of fiddling to get everything aligned again. Also, the plastic piece that operates the reset button fell out and I didn't notice it until it was back together so I had to bit of a do over on that. On the second one I taped the ping pong ball to the trigger side of the shell and it stayed put while I replaced the battery. They both took a couple of hours to change.
