Till now it is very much accurate. It takes time to measure the temperature (approx 30sec to 1min) but it is okay for regular home use. My air conditioner is malfunctioning and I did not get sufficient cooling. After complaining they told it is okay. So I purchase the temperature sensor. After that they can't deny that there was a problem with the ac. Then they brought the professional temperature sensor and the reading of this sensor is as accurate as the professional one. But it take some time to measure the value. Review: Decent Product worth money - Good product , value for money , it does its job for this price range . Wished it had an on/off switch as it remains on through out .Accuracy is +/- 1-2deg generally .So take account of that .The other problem is the probe wire connection , which may get detached if not handled properly , the reason I pushed it between the clip . Quite accurate (as measured with an infrared thermometer - both readings match to last decimal point!) Uses 2 LR44 cells. May be easy to get in China, but for India 2 AA or 2 AAA cells would be better. But no information provided to extend the probe cable. Does not give technical details of the probe, so impossible to guess what sort of sensor is being used. Which IC? I know I am being picky, but I thank Mextech for making this available in India at a reasonable price.
