Peel off the back cover, put them in place and voila, let there be light. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because if you aren't careful when inserting the batteries you may damage the plastic case. I had to really shove the batteries in to get them in place to where the case could be closed. On one, there is a split in the case but it doesn't hinder use, especially since you can't really see the damage due to where I put the lights.
