    A contemporary romance

The storyline of the book is very simple: A man named Chandran, finishes his graduation and in between he falls in love with a girl but unfortunately it doesn't come till marriage. The rest of the story is how he moves on and let's go of his past.All this might sound very plain and dull but the way it was written was what makes this book enjoyable till the end. There's dry sense of humour, old Hindu traditions are questioned, the feeling of first love is shown beautifully, themes of family, friendship, last days of college is covered too. The setting of 1930's India is well portrayed in this book.Overall, for me, it was a good change from the modern romance to a softer side.

I thought I would only be able to give her the book after her birthday but VIOLA!!! the book reached just in time :) great service by Amazon and as I am a great fan of R.K Narayan I know that this book would be good too!
