They are made in China, but what isn't these days. The adjusting is a little tricky, but for the price, doesn't matter to me that much. They will hold up pretty I think. Overall a good hat. We are using them for kids actually and I think they will work great. I will advise after we use them for our Vacation Bible School. I'm sure they would work professionally as well! There was lots of overlap for the kids. **Q: Can you puff the pleats out or do the stay straight up?** A: The pleats stay pretty much straight.
