I use them when I’m on my period. Review: Like the flood gates opened! - I was skeptical about this tea working to flush out the water weight I had been carrying due to a medication. I was so miserable I was willing to try just about anything. I read about what foods, herbs & spices helped with water retention. Nothing was helping very much. I began to search for a tea eventually and found this one by Traditional Medicinals Teas (they have good stuff - used this brand before). Even after reading the reviews I was still skeptical. I'm thrilled to report IT WORKS! I mean... it REALLY WORKS. It does taste a little tart and a little sweet. I only add honey. This one requires very little. I suspect you could do without honey at all and it would still have enough sweetness. It is RED colored tea after steeping. So you may want to keep that in mind with your dental hygiene - staining teeth. It's all worth it though! The 1st night I had my 1st cup I didn't notice any urge to run to the bathroom. I did "go" before bed but nothing major. When I woke up in the morning (my usual time - not waking up just to go pee) I felt just a tad bit more of an urge to "go" than any other morning. My, oh my, did I go! Whewwww! I can't remember feeling so relieved! Throughout the day I realized I wasn't urinating more frequently necessarily but when I did urinate I was urinating much more in quantity. Due to the meds I'm required to take I've been retain fluid - it's just more and more. It's not fat. It's definitely water retention. If you retain water you know exactly what it looks like. Over time I slowly noticed I wasn't urinating as often or as much in quantity as I used to. As time has gone on this had become a real issue for me & it's rather embarrassing to retain all this fluid. I've been drinking 1 cup every night. No need in overdoing it.
