## Description

For years now the Alpha gel has been famous for its squishy, soft gel grip. All those other "comfy" grips seem like hard rubber compared to this one. Squeeze it and it'll bring an instant "Oooooooo" to your lips. It's the same gel that's famous for keeping an egg from breaking even when dropped from a 5ft height. Uni has realized the popular appeal of its gel grips and has now adopted it for its Jetstream line in Japan. Many of our customers will be ecstatic because they have always wanted the liquidly soft Alpha gel grip combined with a superior writing performance such as that from the Uni-Ball Jetstream. Jetstream is popular both in the US and overseas for its smooth writing, dark lines, and smear resistant technology. The body for these pens is made of brushed metal. When held to the light you will find a textured look on the metal, giving it an almost wood-like appeal. Silver, black, and pink body colors are available.

Review: Wonderful if you have big hands - I have big hands and struggle to find pens with a wide enough grip to be comfortable for lots of writing. This pen is fantastic and one of the most comfortable I've ever used. The grip is quite... squidgy... and at first I thought maybe too soft. Then I took this pen to a conference where I wrote many, many pages of notes and had no aches in my fingers or wrist at the end of the day, which I'd usually get after doing a lot of fast handwriting. I'd taken a couple of other pens along as backups so I could change around if my hand started getting sore part way through the day, but didn't touch them as the Alpha-Gel Grip was so comfortable. The body of the pen and the clip is metal and feels sturdy, I've no worries about bashing it around in my bags or pockets. The ink is the usual Jetstream quality - smooth, good flow, doesn't smear if you move your hand across it (I'm right handed, so if you're a left handed writer you might want to check out exactly how quickly Jetstream ink dries before buying, but as far as I can tell this would be fine for left handers.) It takes their SXR-7 refills so it's cheap to put new ink in when it runs out. I found the tip wore in slightly in the first couple of pages of use, so if you don't like it immediately, give it a try for a little while and I found it improved and then stabilised at a nice, even, quite thin line that never skipped a beat. I've tried the Jetstream SXN-150-07 which takes the same refill, and they're good, but their grip section is hard rubber and not as wide as the grip on this. I've found the Alpha-Gel Grip so much better I'll probably be taking the refills from the SXN-150-07s and using them in the AG Grip instead. Highly recommended if you have big hands and usually get cramp or pain when you write a lot.

The Jetstream ink also dries really quickly so that's not an issue at all for those who are left-handed. I've found that the pen body also takes the popular Energel refills as well, if you want the even smoother writing experience of a gel pen. The only problem though, for me, is that the grip gets dusty, but it can easily be cleaned with some tape. That isn't too much of a problem for me though, when using it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful if you have big hands

I have big hands and struggle to find pens with a wide enough grip to be comfortable for lots of writing. This pen is fantastic and one of the most comfortable I've ever used. The grip is quite... squidgy... and at first I thought maybe too soft. Then I took this pen to a conference where I wrote many, many pages of notes and had no aches in my fingers or wrist at the end of the day, which I'd usually get after doing a lot of fast handwriting. I'd taken a couple of other pens along as backups so I could change around if my hand started getting sore part way through the day, but didn't touch them as the Alpha-Gel Grip was so comfortable. The body of the pen and the clip is metal and feels sturdy, I've no worries about bashing it around in my bags or pockets. The ink is the usual Jetstream quality - smooth, good flow, doesn't smear if you move your hand across it (I'm right handed, so if you're a left handed writer you might want to check out exactly how quickly Jetstream ink dries before buying, but as far as I can tell this would be fine for left handers.) It takes their SXR-7 refills so it's cheap to put new ink in when it runs out. I found the tip wore in slightly in the first couple of pages of use, so if you don't like it immediately, give it a try for a little while and I found it improved and then stabilised at a nice, even, quite thin line that never skipped a beat. Heaviness makes the pen a bit tiring to write with. Ink is so smooth though and the grip is to die for!!
