The spring tension is very similar to the OE replaced. I used the same Spring that came with part. Apply silicon grease spray to enhance the life of membrane. The Cap fits well and is very easy DIY . The originila cap broke while removal, but I believe next time I could be more careful . After replacement , the effect was instant and the vibration went away. I also had engine stoppage at Red Light that went away after replacing the PCV. Review: 2014 320i - fix for whistling/squealing sound from engine - Perfect replacement part at a great price. Take your time removing the engine pieces. The pictures go from removing the old part to replacing the new part. I used a smaller eyeglass screwdriver to remove the old part’s cap. The old rubber piece was completely torn - thus causing the “whistling/squealing” sound from the engine. Make sure the vent hole of the cap faces the same direction as the old. Don’t force the new cap on - line up the snaps then slowly snap into place.
