It took you down to the very humble beginnings of Overkill and the other Thrash metal bands of the day. It is comprehensive in it's content but I wish Mr. Kundrat could have been a bit more candid and comprehensive when discussing band mates and management. I don't know if legalities are involved, but I thought he could have said a bit more without looking to sling mud. Otherwise, it is a well done historical piece on thrash metal from an inside perspective. The ups and downs of band life are certainly covered here and the archival footage is pure and raw, which gives you a true sense of what it was like back then. I remember being part of some of the shows the band played in NY and NJ, this dvd captures the energy and excitement of it. It just about moved me to tears remembering all those experiences and people of days gone by but being glad I was part of the magic of it all. There were many kids with garage bands back in the 80's (myself included!) Who had dreams of making it big and this DVD documents that experience and one band who's determination never faltered, the sacrifices made, and the people involved in making it happen so that they could get signed and finally rise up from the basement; where most of our bands started back then! Demo Tapes, Stickers, Posters, Stage sets, beer cans, and blood, Rat Skates takes you in and shows you how he and the boys along with the dedication of his co-manager Girlfriend took a garage level / club act to the top through hard work steadfastness and awesome artistic vision. WATCH IT, headbang and shed a tear or two at the end. Rat Skates is the clear visionary behind this legend, and we all should appreciate it.
