The main ingredient is glutaraldehyde which is active algaecide, Leaf zone is a liquid fertilizer with iron and potassium . So yes they can be used together to help your plants grow. There are a few other liquid ferts out there that are more complete and a better value for long term use. Dry ferts have a much better cost advantage long term, but liquid is quick and easier. I have had great success using CO2 booster with algae control and nice plant growth when use with another liquid fert, before changing over to the other supplements. So I would recommend, but I would also look up other option to keep cost down and provide the best combo of ferts and carbon supplement out there. **Q: Api co2 booster vs seachem excel , what do you guys think. which is better and gives better results on plants. thx** A: Neither really help your plants grow, the active ingredient glutaraldehyde is used to control algae. Seachem Flourish and API Leaf Zone are ferts that help your plants grow. In my experience they have both controlled algae well. Using booster and excel you have to be careful dosing as they can cause melt of val, sag and some sword and other delicate plants when dosing full strength. **Q: Can I use this in soil?** A: Lots of unhelpful answers here. Yes, you can use it in a soil-based aquarium. **Q: What is the difference between this and Seachem Flourish Excel? They seem like same products.** A: They are very similar, the only difference may be the percentage of glutaraldehyde (and the pricing), which is the main ingredient of both which is how they control algae. There are much better options out there for the price or either. The MSDS sheets would show the actual percentage of each ingredient in the product.
