Soft White is 2700k. **Q: Do these bulbs work in high hat fixtures?** A: Don’t know what you mean by high hat fixtures but bulbs I have work on my outside light fixtures outside the garage door and my front porch. **Q: Do you need to always leave your light switch on or can you turn it off and the dusk/dawn feature will still work?** A: Yes, you can turn the light switch off, and the dusk/dawn feature will still work / resume when you turn the light switch on again. I think the light initially does turn on even when light out, but pretty soon turns off until it is dark. I just tried that after leaving the light on all the time. Great idea, except I'd forget to turn the light on again before I left so that when I returned at night the driveway was dark -- the whole reason I decided to get a sensor light in the first place! So now I just leave it on all the time. **Q: I find these bulbs to operate with low temperatures, but the base of bulb becomes very hot (too hot to touch) after several minutes. Is that normal?** A: No that is not normal .. Have used them for over 7 months now and have had no issues. But I had one of the smart bulbs malfunction where it wasn’t cutting on on the schedule time like it was supposed to. So it was bothering me really bad. So I bought these because I saw they cut on automatically when it gets dark outside. Which is when I cut the porch lights on in the back porch light anyway. And I got to say they’re a perfect solution. They cut on as soon as it gets dark outside. You do obviously have to leave the light switch flipped on. But it’s not going to cut on unless it’s dark. I will probably buy more soon just to have back up bulbs for my front and back porch. If you’re hesitant on buying them. Because you don’t know if they really work.
