I expected this to be small, but even for use as a purse it's almost too small. The side pockets are to small to hold a water bottle or a phone, very disappointing. Likewise 2 of the 3 inner pockets are too small to hold my phone or really much of anything (might be ok to hold a chapstick). The pros are that the straps are long enough for an adult, and the fabric has a nice feel, the print/colors are beautiful. I can't imagine a child carrying anything more than a snack or maybe a few small toys in this, so definitely not something you would send a child to school with.
