Especially when using metal dice. Minor inconvenience really, but some people care about this.All in all it's a good rolling tray for the money. Is it the best? No, but it's good for how little money you're spending on it. We use his kitchen table which quickly fills up with books, a playing grid, adult beverages, etc. I bought this to keep dice rolls from flattening our miniatures.It unsnaps to a flat square which I can transport easily, and the corners snap up to create a decent sized dice tray. The turquoise color looks good, and the bottom is firm enough where the die have a nice play to them, but soft enough where it's not noisy.The only issue I've noticed is that when the sides are snapped up, they don't sit at a 90 degree angle to the tray bottom. Rather, they angle slightly outward. Sometimes when rolling a d20, the die gets cocked if it lands against the side. It's basically cardboard covered with a faux leather/plasticy cover. Which is fine, but if you're expecting leather (for this price, you can't reasonably expect it to be leather). It works well. I used it 2-3 times weekly. I am happy with my purchase. It actually looks like it is made from nicer materials than it is. My friend has one, and I assumed it was fancier. Again, I like it!
