First time I've used a solid color (I've always used the prints in this yarn). I wanted the lace pattern in the sock to pop and it sure does. (I'd never done that type of pattern before). The yarn is wonderful to use. Feels good. Isn't too slippery nor too tacky. I was disappointed to find one knot (join) in the yarn but it turned out to occur in a place where it didn't matter nor irritate the foot. The only thing I would caution about is that it is definitely a LIGHT sport weight. My "braids" didn't quite work out because the stitch I chose needed a fuller look.
