My face has yet to get sunburned since I started using it. Goes on neatly (requires a bit of rubbing to spread and ensure full coverage). No weird smell, doesn't burn eyes. Only thing to be careful about is not letting it sit out in the sun as it could get mushy if it gets too warm.
