The individual charged with the management of a piping team must be able to understand the project scope, plan the piping manhour and manpower requirements, decide the piping deliverables, decide the piping specifications and standards to be used, decide the piping procedures to be followed, monitor the piping progress and interface with the other diciplines as a minimum. Additionally, one should also understand the needs of procurement, fabrication and construction; be able to contribute to the construction execution plan and the scopes of work, and be able to negotiate with project management.
