The straps around the calves are BADLY designed; the top strap is so big it would fit around my thigh, and I lift weights, kids. I'm not small. I had to unstitch it from the zipper, shorten it, and glue/stitch it back in. If you're not crafty I do not recommend these shoes. The sole under the ball of your foot is VERY flat, making them uncomfortable even for heels. These are very 80's in design - strictly for looks, not for walking. Or standing.
