I had to disassemble the entire light, scrape off the silicon over the circuit board, unsolder the wires and solder a new 18" wire onto the circuit board. Since the aluminum reflector is so close to the solder joints, I used duct tape on the backside of the reflector to protect the wires so they would not short out on the reflector. Otherwise, these lights are on from dusk to dawn every night. As you can see from the photo, the flag and the sign are well lit at night! I am hopeful they will last a long time in this application. You can see that they are pointed up, and we are in Florida where humidity and rain are plentiful. These lights are well built with a cast aluminum chassis with heat sink built into the design The circuit board is attached to the chassis with screws and the manufacturer used silicon grease to ensure good contact for the heat sink. The front bezel is also aluminum and is attached to the chassis with four screws at the corners. The chassis has a channel where a silicon gasket is set between the chassis and the glass which should keep moisture and water from entering. This floodlight is well designed and executed with the exception of the 12" pigtail. Tell me, how is anyone going to apply these lights with a 12" pigtail? For five stars, it needs at least 18" and preferably 24". ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great light for the money. *by G***T on May 8, 2019* It can't be directed much because it is shallow, but it does produce a nice amount of light and the color is not harsh like many LED lights. Color is important to me for appearance. The light is probably a little less than a 150 watt high pressure sodium, but close enough. For a parking lot, I would like just a little bit brighter, but I am happy with it lighting my hone office lot. Low wattage and should be good longevity. You can use a big short bolt to suspend it from an existing electric box with a cover designed for the high pressure sodium fixtures.
