I don't know what this mode is or expected it to be in the game, so I wont mark it down for this and will focus my review purely on gameplay and manager mode. Last Fifa I bought was Fifa 15, since then I've only played 16 with friends. Fifa 15 I found disappointing as they overdid trying to make it more realistic taking away from the fun and I had to go on youtube to find the best settings to improve the game. First game I played on Fifa 17 was a pre season game on manager mode and I knew by the end of the first half they've got it spot on for this one, definite improvement in gameplay from 16 as well. The little mistakes and miss touches arent annoying, they add to the fun as they don't detract from the gameplay. After completing a season of manager mode, there's not a lot different with the setup and function of the mode, which I prefer as I could jump straight in without having to re learn everything. Where it's been great fun to play is with the matches themselves. What I'vefound is the game is so well balanced in most areas that I don't switch off and go into that auto mode which I tend to do for every other fifa I've played before, you have to have a level of concentration as there's variables that happen and this makes it fun to play, constantly. I havent got bored once, it's got me addicted to the game like no other fifa has before. It's saying something when I play a manager mode and didn't sim a match once, not even the pre season games. Love the new free kick and corner system with the cursor, massive improvement there. Shooting is really satisfying, whether it be finesse, normal or drill, the physics are spot on and the realism of shots taken when not in ideal positions or being challenged is excellent. Gone are the days of blasting passes up the field as quick as possible, this tactic will make you lose possesion more often than not. You have to be more tactical and thoughtful with your build up play, which has the effect of making you think about what you're doing more than in previous fifas. The AI has to be commended for this one as well. Defending is much better, fluid and controlled than in Fifa 15. The AI seems to have had an overhaul as well, so defenders do what you expect them to It has its flaws. The penalty system I don't prefer but can appreciate it adds more level of mastery to it (guess its laziness preferring the old system), the trick pass while holding the left trigger messes me up occasionally as I do like to use left trigger for close control and I feel they've capped the youth system. I found it lot harder to find decent youth players. Also some of the animations used for pre match, post match and trophy winning are still the same as in Fifa 15, they really need to bring some new stuff to the table here. These are flaws I can deal with and it's still by far the best Fifa I've played. They're heading in the right diection again with the franchise and have finally got the balance right between realism and fun Review: Great, love it. No dissapearing feet on teams like fifa 15.
