This Ryan knife is no different. Great blade edge, good handle ergonomics, and easy opening. I have given this knife as a gift as well and have been pleased to see that years later those that received it are still proud to carry it and use it daily. For the price I would definitely recommend this as a gift or for your own use. Looks great, sharp out of the box, and gets even sharper if you do it right. Be advised that this knife is a bit of a chunk - you aren't going to forget it's in your pocket. Dual thumb studs and a smooth pivot provide for easy one hand opening. There are also two different blade locks to make sure that it doesn't close back on you. But what I like the best about it is that it just feels really good in my hand. It's solid and I'm not afraid that it's going to snap unless I do something stupid.
