The re-formulated stuff has over a dozen ingredients, about half plant extracts; still significantly better than 95% of what's out there, without costing like it's in that 5% group. But I do wish they'd bring back the old stuff, even if it's packaged as 'Premium Original' and costs 25% more! **Q: Is this real "original" pears soap or the hindustan unilever imitation?** A: This is NOT the β€œoriginal” Pears soap. What you get has a much longer ingredient list that what it says on the display. **Q: So is it the 8 ingredient soap from the past now, did it finally become what I loved in the 80s.? Clear lovely bar.** A: The past is gone. And, the hands of time in one direction only - forward. Pears is now made in India. I have been using this brand for more than 15 years. The current version seems the same to me.
