The Smoked Bamboo Hanger is a handcrafted, eco-friendly display solution for textiles measuring 35" to 37". Each hanger is unique, made by a village co-op in Vietnam, and designed to enhance your decor while promoting sustainable practices.

## Description

NOTE: You cannot 'open' the two pieces to slide a textile through; the two ways you can 'mount' a textile are to flip it over the bottom bar into the open space or tape it to the bottom bar with double-sided tape. Smoked bamboo textile hanger. Sourced from a small village co-op in Vietnam. Sacred Silks works with an export company in Vietnam to bring you these beautiful textile hangers. There are about 150 households still involved in producing smoked bamboo products. The bamboo is harvested from the provinces of Bac Thai, Bac Can and Yen Bai. It is then immersed in ponds for three to five months. Next, it is scraped smooth by hand. Now the bamboo is dried on the floor of a special wood and clay oven where it is smoked for 10-12 hours; rearranged and baked again (the process is repeated four times). When the drying is complete, the bamboo is rubbed with sand, straw or husk. After smoked, the bamboo becomes flexible so that it can be bent and fashioned into various shapes. Finally, it is rubbed with oil to create a beautiful luster. Bamboo has been used for thousands of years to make furniture and, because of its strength, it is also used to make building materials such as scaffolding. - Each smoked bamboo hanger is unique in look. No two are exactly alike as they are hand-made at a village co-op in Vietnam. Size from end to end on the bottom piece is 36"- 43”; Useable (open space) area is 34” – 35”
- A great way to display textiles on your wall.
- The bottom bar does not detach, your textile either needs to be flipped over the bottom bar, or attached with double-sided foam mounting tape.
