First off I'll say I'm an Abu Garcia man. I use their reels and veritas rods. I bought this rod to use with my 1980 abumatic 150. I got the reel when was 6 in 1980. After 20 years I got it back from a family member. It looks and works like new. It originally had a berkely rod with it. I bought this rod to pair with the abumatic. The rod is pretty solid and seems like it will hold up well. It has a great look to it and an over a great action. I wanted the cork handle look for that older look.
