I was disappointed to notice right away that it is missing the all important UL stamp on the charger. How does that make this any better or safer than any other cheap generic Chinese charger? Why is it so difficult to make an Apple-compatible AC adapter? This is the second non-Apple one I have purchased from Amazon that doesn't work. I tried multiple house plugs. It briefly worked for my wife's 13" MacBook Pro, then didn't. Then I tried to pull it out of the wall and the plug came apart.I really have trouble understanding why it needs to take $80 for a power brick, but apparently it does. I need a few of these for different locations and travel, and before I know it there goes $300 for a few power adapters so I have tried a few of the cheaper ones. The other one I tried from Amazon was $45 or $46. I bought this to keep one power supply at my desk and this one in my bag for when I am on the go with my Macbook pro. Right away you can feel how considerably lighter and less solid the device is compared to the Apple issued one that comes with your laptop, giving a good sense of how poorly constructed this one is; the removable power prong that could be swapped with a long cable constantly slips out easily. Sure enough, just short of 3 months of continuous use it fails.
