We found this swivel and it is very sturdy. We mounted a shelf to it so it would hold the base of our flat screen tv. There is no hardware or instructions included for mounting so we were on our own there. We counter sank the screws that we used to mount the shelf to the swivel so it would clear the metal brackets. We also needed to loosen the middle bolt on the swivel as it was extremely difficult to turn. With a little effort it meets our needs well.
