The mirror finish isn't distracting and causes no problems reading the large numbers in the daylight nor light reflections in the night.The good points: The dual USB charging ports are a nice plus on a basic alarm clock like this. The alarm itself isn't too loud or annoying, just a decent buzzing that will wake you up. Nice that using any button other than Snooze will turn off the alarm. It comes with a button battery to keep the time when the power goes out. There are both "up" and "down" buttons so when you set the time you don't have to worry about overshooting the time and have to loop around 24 hours to try again. It's a thin clock to it takes up very little room on a nightstand.Two very minor gripes: The stand is very thin plastic and I worry that with time it may break, forcing some creative problem solving to make a replacement stand for it. Second, I'm a big fan of usability so I want a clock with controls that are obvious without reading a manual, and that is not the case here. A month from now I won't remember that the clock is set by holding the M button for three seconds, but the alarm time is set by pressing M once and THEN holding the M button for three seconds. I won't remember which control to hold to turn on and off nighttime brightness settings, nor the other features.
