I would say that the net sponge is a bit less exfoliating than loofahs when holding each end in one hand, but just as exfoliating or more so if you use it as a bunch. I'm especially pleased with the exfoliation for my feet, it works better than a pumice stone! And of course, being able to clean it and not having to replace it every few months is great. It also dries more quickly than a loofah which contributes to making it more hygienic. I wish I'd done the switch earlier!
