They are very adept at cracking the outer shell to get at the consumable inside they enjoy to sustain them. **Q: The description says the seeds are hulled and then fortified but comments here say the seeds are not hulled. Is there sugar in this?** A: Some of the seeds are hulled: the oats and one of the millions, to avoid non-edible bulk in the package. There is no added sugar and no added fat in this seed mix and no pellets. **Q: I just received my order today. the manufacture date is august 2016, which is almost two years ago. is this normal, or did i get shipped an old bag?** A: That doesn't sound too good. Doesn't it have an expiration date. My seeds are usually good for two years after I purchase them. I would contact the manufacturer.
