They keep the beer colder for longer, and the bottle opener definitely comes in handy. I'm not sure why people complained about the bottle openers not working in other reviews. You just have to put the whole thing in the palm of your hand to use it before you put the beer inside. And I have washed these (but I don't think I tried to dry them) and they came out looking like new. I do wish the orange and red were nicer shades, they look a little dingy.
