Blending sticks pick up all the colors you are using and these are, sort of like erasers for those blending sticks. For the price, very worth the buy. They are my favourite way to sharpen the point on my good pencils. You hold the wooden plaque and peel back the top sheet to expose the sandpaper on which you can now rub the side of the point of the pencil - sharpens really quickly. I do this not only when the point first dulls but also after “whittling” away the wood with an Exacto type blade. You can press hard on the sandpaper because it is backed by the wood. EXCEPT NOT ON ONE OF THESE. One was made correctly, the other was made with the sandpaper upside down... not as useful and definitely more awkward to use.
