I plugged it in, and the system beeps at me like it is recognizing a new device to install (just keeps beeping at me). In the Windows Explorer, I can see the device for a second, and when I click on it, sometimes I even see the data on the CD, but it immediately disappears and says the drive is unavailable. Not a happy camper.Updated Jan. 30, 2019 - before going a different direction, I asked if I had any other option. I plugged the device in to a USB 2.0 port (has a white plastic insert, instead of the USB 3.0 ports have a blue plastic insert). It installed immediately and it has worked to install my tax software. It pretends it's burning the disc, then at the end, as you are getting the message saying it is "finishing," you get a message saying that Burning the Disc Failed. And then you have to throw out the disc, because part of the process marks it in some way and ruins it.
