I use it in a 4,000 cubic feet room that is open to another room and kitchen. That is a good 10,000 cubic feet of space but I am only about 11 feet away so it is not that bad.The good: In max output, it is capable of playing over 100spl peak from where I am at. The bass has good quality on both movie amd music. It has a nice thump to it and with enough volume you can feel the impacts on movie. I use multieq to tame the peaks from using it on the corner. My wife hates boomy bass and this has none of it. Max extension goes deeper but max output playes cleaner since I tune the subwoofer hot.The quality is definitely better than even the movie theater.The subwoofer is also attractive looking.Cons: it only goes to 25hz in max output. Although there is some at 20hz. The price went up since last year.The sub cant pressurize my large room, although it can in my smaller 2,200 cubic foot room. I am thinking of going duals but havent bit the bullet yet.Update:I bought 2 of them. They sound wayyyy better with two subwoofers. I dont need to run the sub hot while playing at -15 volume. I do run them hot when I play at -25 volume, which is pretty low. Having duals feels like the bass quality is better and more full. I recommend everyone buy duals. Note, I still cant pressurize the room. Lol ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ but investment has been a good one. Much cleaner and better output from what ... *by N***S on June 9, 2018* Upgraded from a Polk PSW505. Yeah, the Outlaw is $500 more, but investment has been a good one. Much cleaner and better output from what I've experienced. Using in a room that is roughly 2,600 cubic feet, it easily fills it.Went with this particular subwoofer over other competitors such as Hsu, SVS, Rythmik because of the down-firing design. Was worried my toddler son would destroy a front-firing woofer. In addition, I thought the Outlaw looked the nicest. It's still a big black box, but feel like it has the cleanest design. The unit sits in a living/common space, so it can't look terrible, know what I mean.Really like the tuning options, as well. So far, max extension seems to work best with my circumstances. Use the subwoofer in a 2.1 setup for about 50/50 music and home theater. Has worked well for both.Currently have it paired with Revel Concerta2 M16 speakers, that are connected to a Parasound A23 amplifier, and a Cambrige CXN network player, and haven't noticed any issues with synergy.
