Review: Fantastic Controller for PC gaming - After using both the official PlayStation 5 and Xbox series controllers with my PC for years i decided to try something different and oh boy am I glad I did. The 8Bitdo Ultimate 2 instantly made me feel good about the purchase the moment I started using it. The sticks are fantastic and way better than the official xbox controller and the buttons all feel nice and responsive. The addition of paddles on the back and 2 extra shoulder buttons makes this controller a dream for racing games (gear shifts never felt so good on a controller). The triggers also have 2 modes, with a short and long action. With the short being useful for games like Crimson Desert and the long being great for Forza etc. So far the battery has been excellent, I haven't ran out yet thanks to the included charging dock. The controller is slightly smaller than what I am used to but that has actually been a bonus and I ended up liking the smaller size. Controller is great *by J***Z on 24 December 2025* Honestly the controller is great. I'm only having issues with the software and somewhat consistently. Controller itself and dock work great. I've had itt for a couple months now and so far there's no wear. Everythings responsive and the plastic doesn't feel cheap which is important since you're handling it for so long. Can't speak for the battery life but lasts at least 3-4 hours. Lighting designs are a nice touch. Back padles are a must for me and it works great. Software has issues opening. My only real gripe with it. But I sometimes have to restart my pc if it doesn't open. Nothing task manager can do to help, it just gives me some foreign text saying "can't open or something" once it opens it works well. But I like to change controls at times and can't do it reliably.
