It's when you go up in size (and thickness of foam) that it really starts to make a difference, and there is a reason you see some that seem insanely expensive.What I've learned is, without a doubt, you'd be better getting less, good foam panels (perhaps with a mix of types, wedges are great but the eggcrate style is a good change, and the very-tight-wedge panels are better for highs, as far as I know), than getting a ton of these.. I learned the hard way, and while I have some area covered in these, I probably will slowly shift over to thicker ones because I don't think, even with more than 48 up, it's doing that much.Without a doubt, the single most effective purchase was bass traps. Don't be scared by the price of the huge 12x12x12" ones, they are absolute monsters that eat stray sound. They also aren't cheap, costing $100 for an 8-foot corner, but there are smaller 5 or 7" thick bass traps you can use in farther corners if you want something there.. just some of those in a corner will do a ton.If your acoustics are good and you want a cool look, this definitely does that cheap. I mean, 3"-4" grooves/wedges are cooler looking without a doubt, but very expensive to cover a wall in, and better done in diamond shapes spread out.. these at least you can plaster all over at the price.. so if say, you want a "recording studio" look, and have good sound dampening, these could be good for more decoration type padding.Not so say they do nothing, they do have an effect, but it's not the type of thing most people would be able to pick up. It's kind of hard to learn except by doing, but once you have a room deadened, you know. And it's really nice :) I just think if i took all these down and replaced them with 8 3" deep wedge panels, it'd have the same or a better effect. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Panels that do the job at an excellent value *by J***D on Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2019* I used these in my home recording studio with excellent results. Considering these are on 1" thick and not 2+ like some of the much more expensive options, they do a great job. I adhered them to the wall using hot glue (gorilla glue sticks) and they have stayed up really well (with a full drum kit playing). They do a great job reducing noise and look great. I've owned similar panels that felt more like styrofoam and didn't do as good of a job absorbing the sound as these.
