It is a full suspension case that provides a lot of protection for the instrument. I have two of these cases for two different instruments and ordered the second one after using the first one for years. This is the case I use this to travel with my very old violin, and am never worried about it. The strap that comes with the case is also high quality with good hardware. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great case BUT don't go off the product pictures. *by S***P on January 9, 2022* This review is to let other people know the ACTUAL color! Do not go off the pictures for the product description. The pictures look more wine/purple/violet. My pictures show the actual blue/black description.The description is correct in blue/black. It actually looks like an ULTRA MARINE Blue or mix of Royal Blue. Depending what type of light hits it, the blue can even look a little deep turquoise and have an irredescent sheen.This violin case is my 2nd Bobelock 1047 half case.I did not expect it to look like it did, as I was expecting the color of the picture. But the color delivered "the actual color" does look cool, it's just not what I was expecting.Also, the case has rain cover flaps over the zipper part vs. The product picture showing exposed zipper. (My other 1047 casedoes not have them) so maybe this is a newer design?Just didn't want anyone to be disappointed expecting more of a purple/plum/ colored one being shown. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great quality for the price *by F***A on May 14, 2019* This case was surprisingly high quality for the pricepoint. I have another case that currently retails for $800, and this case is comparable in sturdiness. Some features are not great (the ribbon holding the case lid up is too short, so it pulls the lid closed instead of allowing it to stay open), the fasteners are plastic, etc. but... for the price, this is a great buy.
