## Description

General Finishes Exterior 450 Water Based Topcoat, 1 Quart, Flat - desertcart.com

Review: Protection!! - This is my second purchase of 450 flat finish. I LOVE this product!!!! I have a test piece of wood that has been sitting on my deck rail through a brutal winter. The piece of wood looks no different now than the day I set it on the deck rail! Through moisture, snow, rain, bird poop. The piece of wood still looks amazing! I am using three coats to protect my newly made Adirondack chairs. I know they will be safe through our spring and summer seasons. I'm also sure if I left them out in the snow they would be just fine too! This is a wonderful product that won't change the look, color, or clarity of your wooden projects.
Review: General finish is great - Did not apply as smooth as the flat out flat or flat of semi in the regular poly, but finish is more durable

- Exterior 450 Topcoat is fortified with UV absorbers to stabilize and protect the integrity of the finish but will not prevent the wood from changing color from sunlight
- Water based formula can be brushed, sprayed or rolled; soap and water cleanup

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this block UV damage?**
A: Yes. Rain exposure will however cause it to wear off, so use several coats (4 or 5). You may have to sand/refinish annually, but this is likely going to be the case for all outdoor finishes.

**Q: I opened my can and it is white and as thick as yogurt. Is this normal?**
A: Yep!... just make sure you stir it well. My rule of thumb is 10 clockwise, 10 times counterclockwise, then repeat 10 times. It will loosen up a little but remain white. When you apply (if you apply smoothly and thinly) no white should be apparent.

**Q: This product is titled "flat quart", but the photo shows semi-gloss. Which finish is this product?**
A: Wow I missed that! It's flat!

**Q: Can this be used on raw wood, stained wood and, painted surfaces all in the exterior application?**
A: I have used it on painted furniture and stained furniture outdoors. The front door and the swing both were covered but exposed to wind and rain only win storms blew it in. It’s a great product.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful Finish
*by T***P on February 27, 2019*

This stuff is expensive and worth it. I am using it to seal a cypress, tongue and groove, patio ceiling. It goes on smooth, dries fast, and water based for easy cleanup. My project will not be receiving direct sunlight or exposed to the elements, so I cannot speak to it's durability. Their 600 sq ft coverage is optimistic. I am getting about 350 with a brush application. One coat on the interior and two coats on the exposed sections. I am using FLAT and keeping the boards a natural finish.
