I have $2500 pair of hearing aids from one of the big membership warehouses. They were never satisfactory. When one quit working a while back I decided to look around. First I tried a $25 pair of in-the-ear hearing amplifiers, which worked ok, but squealed too often. After a bit of research I decided to give these a try. It took a while to figure them out. With the gain set too high, they squeal easily, especially if I am wearing a hat. Now they work better for me than the expensive aids did. My only concern is long term reliability. If they don't last, I will update this review.One caveat--ignore the "frequently bought together" note above. The LR44/AG13 alkaline cell mentioned there is NOT the correct one for these. After all the hassle of selecting the amplifiers I assumed that those who bought them with these amplifiers used them with those cells. After I received them I found my error. Look for type 13 or P13 cells.Update 5/12/16--The ear piece on one of the units has slipped out three times in the last few days. The amplifier then falls off. I'm going to have to find a way to make it stay. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Star Product with 1 Star Support *by J***B on January 9, 2016* These work as described. They fit comfortably. Volume and frequency modulation settings couldn't be easier. It takes a few days to get used to them and optimize settings. Once done, they don't cause annoying feedback and squealing like some of the other devices I've tried and I don't have to remove it to use the phone. I'm very satisfied with the productReplacement tubes and domes are no where to be found. The Britzgo website is a joke. Product was purchased through Amazon Prime. My review may not show as verified purchase because it was for a 2 unit item that was removed from Amazon's listing. It's a great product but I will be returning it unless I see replacement tubes and domes offered before the 30 day return window closes. ### ⭐⭐⭐ I don't think it's medical grade. *by T***K on March 31, 2016* Item needs a manual, Bad! The only reason why I was able to make heads or tails of working the device was because I've used sound amplifiers for hunting. You can get the same thing for a fraction of the cost, I don't think it's medical grade equipment. It's too easy to get lost in playing with the functions so let me give anyone else out there who is having trouble some great advice: To reset the device fully when you find yourself so lost and it keeps screeching in your ears, take the battery out and hold down the function(M button with the one I got) and this will discharge any charge it has and it will revert back to default to it's first setting which is the "Wide Frequency," which allows the device to function without screeching. The screeching seems to come on in enclosed spaces; hand over device, standing too close to a wall, having a hooded jacket or sweater up, and even during certain sounds that repeatitive such as a noisy fan.
