So far, it looks like they do not have to push firmware updates to this every other day causing it to shut down like their refurbished equipment they hand out. So far, not a single drop in quality or connectivity 3 months running now. The Spectrum issued equipment was constantly losing connections and rebooting(all 12 boxes I got from them before I got fed up and did my own equipment). This is central florida, so not sure how reliable Spectrum is in your area. **Q: Is this compatible with xfinity triple play?** A: No, Triple Play includes an IP phone that plugs into your router. Not sure if you can move your "wired" phone number to Comcast. This modem will not provide you with their phone service. Comcast will rent you a modem, wireless and IP phone router for $$$ a month. There are only a few of these boxes that support Comcast IP phones, they are over $300 to purchase. Plus, with triple play, you will pay the FCC a 911 charge of $15 or more a year. I have triple play but bought this modem and Ooma to transfer my "home" phone number for about $5 a month.
