As much as dyson wants to think their filters are washable truth is they are not. The dust inside clumps up when wet and then they stink to high heaven. I tried cleaning the original purple filter per Dyson's instructions and it made the smell worse somehow. Enter these filters. I had no idea that I could replace the filter so inexpensively! These fit the budget and fit the vacuum perfectly, just like the original filter.
