K-type thermocouples are made from chromel / alumel wire, this K-type wire is made to standard K-type thermocouple specification. The thermocouple wire has a double fiberglass insulation, with the inner insulation color coded to ANSI K-type colors, which are yellow for + and red for -. It is sold in 10 yard (30 ft) spools.
