My old one had a washer and adjustment nut. Does it leak?** A: Mine screws into a plastic fitting. There is not washer, and in fact does not even seat against the fitting it screws into. I installed it with teflon tape on the threads and have not had any problem with it leaking. The water pressure in my back yard used to be around 120-140, and these valves would blow out regularly. I installed a regulator and cut it down to 90. This is the first float valve since that change, and so far it works great with no leaks (about 2-3 months). **Q: How loud is this filler? My current cheap plastic one is constantly spraying a very small amount that you can hear across the yard.** A: Its a little when going full blast.
