Review: I Love The Drums!! - My Review... Easy Five Stars!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ok so where do I even start? I absolutely love love these drums! The packaging is very neat, clean and protective! The package came a week earlier than expected, Awesome! The Noise level is very adjustable being the fact these are electronic drums. What fascinates me with electronic drums is how can you get a Cymbal sound out of something rubber and drum sound out of a mesh drum? The only two so called "Cons" I discovered were that the drumsticks hitting the Rubber Cymbals is very loud but I think sticks hitting Anything would be loud LOL. The Rack is a little wobbly but that is ok! The drums are very very Durable, they can definitely take a beating. I personally love to play very gentle because I play drums to a lot of hymns in my lessons at Church. Portability not sure I imagine it's doable, probably easier than acoustic drums. I also added an extra drum and Cymbal to my drums as well to match the Church Drums. Story Time... I never dreamed I would play Drums! Yes for the longest time I avoided drums and percussion because it is just so so loud! Playing drums kind of taught me how to be gentle, ironic right? The beautiful thing with electronic drums is you can turn the Volume up or down! So I first learned how to play the drums at Church in February 2023. They had an "Alesis Nitro" there and I absolutely fell in love with the way it feels to play them. I can't get enough of how soft the rubber cymbals and mesh drums are. So found I have a different drumming style in me, than every other drummer. I just use my hands and fingers to play. I tried the Drumsticks for all of 3 seconds and Yuck for me... I barely even touch the drums and I get a good loud crispy sound. It's perfect for worship Music because it's not too loud or quiet, just right. I had my first lesson and they taught me a really basic 4/4 beat there. The thing that fascinates me the most with electronic drums its not just how hard you hit the drums but where you hit the drums and cymbals you get different volumes. It's almost like there are "Hot Spots" where you hit and it is way loud. Oooh So fascinating! The electronic drums have a beautiful sound at Church... So eventually I came to desertcart here in December of 2024 and bought me my own drums for my bedroom. OMG! I love love them so so much! The funniest thing is I ordered them and they were supposed to come the day after New Year's instead they came on Christmas Eve! Now that's the best Christmas gift ever!! Now I can play them for hours and I don't have to impatiently wait for Sundays at Church lol. What's great about having drums at home is what I learn in my Drum lessons at Church I can practice at home now. I even made it on a Worship Team finally too! Finally I am getting the practice I need. I love the songs. So as for gift value, it's a spectacular gift idea for anyone who loves to play drums! Priceless!
Review: Great set with lots of flexibility to configure - I got this set with the expansion pack which was well worth it to me (the 4th Tom has a rim effect that sounds a bit like a tambourine and the second Crash has a different sound than the standard one.) It was relatively easy to put together but in the end it took me 8 hours to play around with things to get them to where I wanted. Then theres the wires which they don’t show in the product images… The drum heads are solid but small, especially the snare. The Kick drum basically needs 20+ pounds backstopping it or to drill the base into something. The frame is pretty sturdy but the two shorter end posts will tend to lean in for me (I did put more than intended on them and only have two Toms on the front bar. (I’m going to put something to lock the rubber bottoms of the rail stand in place.) The choke feature on the Crash & Ride Cymbals is a little sketchy. Theres about a 2” section dead center on the edge that controls it but if you miss the exact spot, no Choke which may not be the end of the world but is annoying when you expect it to work like grabbing a regular Cymbal only to find you were slightly off. Another plus is that it’s easy to fold the sides in and pickup and move. It’s surprisingly light while still sturdy overall. The components to setup each head or Cymbal all have three points of adjustment for tons of control. I would try to get it setup how you want it in terms of height, spacing, angles etc. before running the cables and the leave enough slack to make adjustments without having to reconfigure any cables. Because I knew I would have to screw the Kick pad into something I set up the set on a piece of 2’ x 4’ plywood which is great with something underneath to protect the floor which then allows you to slide the set around easily. I’m very happy with the set and the only additional thing I’ll get ag some point is a double-base pedal. This is a perfect set for a beginner and with the expansion pack it really looks impressive with four Cymbals and four Toms. Overall, great set for a beginner or anyone who doesn’t want to spend $3k plus on a professional digital set.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What kind of acessories do I have to buy to have the set operational? I mean cables, amp and things like this?**
A: Throne (drum seat), pair of headphones with 1/4" jack or more likely a normal pair of 1/8" headphones + an 1/8" to 1/4" adapter (less than $10 on Amazon. Since this has seperate L and R outputs, I also got a dual L/R 1/4" to single 1/8" steareo adapter to ensure it plays in both ears. Also, I would highly suggest an amp whether or not you plan on using headphones. This thing is very low power and sound is very soft with headohones--plug kit into amp and headphones into amp headphone output.

**Q: I cannot place the new model side-by-side and compare. What’s the difference between them?**
A: Alesis support here! The only difference between the Nitro Kit and Nitro Mesh Kit is that the Nitro Mesh Kit includes mesh heads, which provide both a more realistic feel to playing acoustic drums, and it also allows for softer sounding hits. If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me directly at mvieira@inmusicbrands.com.

**Q: Will this work with the video game Rock Band?**
A: For Xbox One and Rock Band 4 you will need an Xbox 360 MIDI adapter and a PDP Wired Legacy Adapter, the latter of which is about $700 due to its rarity. For Xbox 360 and Rock Band 1-3, you just need the MIDI adapter mentioned previously. The MIDI out on the drums plugs into the MIDI in on the adapter, the adapter plugs into the Xbox (or PDP wired legacy adapter for Xbox One) via USB, and then you set specific MIDI notes to the pads via the Alesis module or use a pre-existing setup that works.

**Q: How much space is required to set this kit up comfortably for a young player (10)? 3 ft x 3 ft.? 4 x 4? Something in between. And please, I understand**
A: Hi, Alesis support here! Nitro Mesh Kit requires approximately 4' x 3' of space once assembled.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great set for the price.
*by J***. on April 11, 2022*

First off let me say the set really is a good bargain set. If your just needing something at home you can practice on without driving the family & neighbors crazy, & without hurting the wallet much, it’s perfect... that being said, I do have a few things I think could’ve been done a bit better even on a bargain class drum set. 1) I wish the module put out louder volume... I’ve tried different headsets and speakers but unless you’re willing to spend another $150 on a high class pair of headphones or a cheap subwoofer, any ambient noise will make it hard to hear the kick, and soft snare notes. 2) The “Bass Drum” is so small and light you will constantly be stopping to pull it back every 2 to 3 kicks. It moves if a light breeze hits it. (2A:You can remedy this a bit if you put down a place mat or rug to put the set on, and use some Velcro to hold in place) (2B: Or like me you can get a used bass drum from a higher class set that has a little weight plus the typical bar-stands on it. Most individual drums can plug into any module that uses 1/4” aux cables) 3) I also wish the high hat control was a little heavier duty and better built 3A: the amazing thing is the Alesis nitro module does allow you to assign any of the 256 different drum voices to whichever piece you want. Meaning you can assign the same kick sound to both the bass drum and the HH-Control Pedal giving you a double kick ability without having to spend the kind of money it takes to get sets that come with double kicks as standard. (3B: but there’s a minor issue when using the HH control for double kick that comes from the cheap/light build of the pedal... now & then When you are playing with the HH pedal as a kick it will make a crack noise like shutting a highhat and kicking bass at same time. And it still acts as open/close function for the High Hat even when you’ve assigned the kick voice to it. So you have to time hitting your high hat to always be alternating with using the pedal as kick. If you do both simultaneously your high hat will sound like your hitting it while wide open. Summary: all in all... the fact that for less than $500 you can get a complete electronic drum set that comes with all mesh heads (excluding bass drum) and feels and sounds pretty dang good; Is amazing. It’d be great for your kids who are just starting their drum journey, (and great for parents as it is 1,000xs quieter than a traditional acoustic set) but also great for people like me who started playing 25years ago. But after becoming a husband & father, your spouse finally got you to put the set in storage. Then your church asks you to join the worship team and you need a way to practice (without getting a divorce) lol. It’s a cheap and easy fix that your spouse (& neighbors) will appreciate.
